Terms of business

Payment

Payment must accompany your order. cheques and postal orders should be made out to ‘M.J. Lister’ and should be crossed ‘a/c payee’.

Minimum order

There is no minimum order value.

Discount

On orders over £80 value of plants you may deduct 10%.

Dispatch of orders

Orders will be dealt with in strict rotation. Those received up to 15 may will be dispatched between the beginning of March and the end of May. orders received after 15 May will normally be held for delivery from the end of September to the end of the year, unless earlier delivery is specifically requested. Extreme weather conditions, either hot or cold, may vary this programme.

Substitutes

If it is almost inevitable that orders for certain plants exceed our ability to supply; demand is extremely unpredictable! may we suggest that you:–

(a) nominate as many substitute plants as you feel able, and/or

(b) make your payment cheque into a "limit cheque", by leaving the amount blank, and writing "not to exceed £..... (your order value) along the bottom of the cheque. If you send a postal order, or cheque made out in the normal way we shall of course send a full refund or credit note for plants which are not available, unless acceptable substitutes are listed on the order form. Limit cheques are our most favoured method of payment.

Complaints/losses

If, for whatever reason, you are not satisfied with the plants when they arrive, please let us know straight away, and we shall do all that we can to rectify matters. Please remember that some plants will show little or no sign of life whilst dormant following autumn dispatch and during the winter months. As we endeavour to send out only healthy plants we are not necessarily able to replace plants which fail after receipt by the customer, as such occurrences, though rare, are usually due to circumstances over which we have no control.

Packing and postal charges

Packing and postal charges are to be found at the bottom of the order form

P&P for overseas orders

We are happy to receive orders from European Union countries but not further afield at present. Postage charges will be governed by weight and it may be necessary to send certain plants open rooted to reduce costs. The plants will of course be well packed and protected. p&p charges will vary with individual orders.

Validity

This catalogue supersedes all previous issues and is valid until replaced or amended. Changes in the price of individual plants may vary, if circumstances so dictate, and this, and the introduction and deletion of various varieties, will require the issue of update lists at regular intervals. All plants are offered subject to availability. The placing of an order will be understood to imply the acceptance of these terms.
